(site in signature)After adding another ad in my sidebar I got this error Warning: require_once(D:\Hosting\3441851\html/wp-content/themes/NerdBlue/sidebar.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in D:\Hosting\3441851\html\wp-includes\theme.php on line 472 Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'D:\Hosting\3441851\html/wp-content/themes/NerdBlue/sidebar.php' (include_path='.;C:\php5\pear') in D:\Hosting\3441851\html\wp-includes\theme.php on line 472 Now it wont even let me open the sidebar document with my ftp client. What happened? Is there anyway to get my blog back to normal? Thanks edit: should i just add the sidebar from original theme back in it and make all my changes again? Please close this thread. problem fixed
To be honest, it seems like you deleted some php calls or commands in the sidebar. If I were you i would replace the theme file again so it is right, and then look into some html/css coding help to make sure you are deleting the correct lines and code. Because most of it is going to be standard html code in the sidebar, but their might be some php calls in there to get images, results, things of that nature, and if you end up deleting the wrong one, then you will get those fatal failure calls from php server. I hope this helps, please let me know if you need any other help or if this didn't work.
Now see, that's just annoying! You ask for help which is fair enough and what the forum is for, fix the issue but then don't say what it was you did to fix it and ask for the thread to be closed. wtf? What if someone else has a similar issue and they come across this thread?
All I did was reinstall the sidebar from the original theme. But I still had to make all the changes to the way I had it before. Not really a fix, more of a start over.
