Hi all I have been building links to two websites, which are in fairly competitive sectors over the last few months, before I began working on these, there had been some previous link building. The websites had appeared to be sandboxed, but two weeks ago they appeared in and around the 10th page of google for the phrases and then a week later half of that and some movement again mid week. I checked today and although the websites are still indexed (doing a site: search), they no longer appear in the rankings for the phrases? The other two (more established) websites have held their SERPS. I have primarily used directories, articles and social bookmarking for links, no recip linking. Has anybody noticed any "dumping" of their websites over the last week or few days? Or in the past? Any advice would be appreciated.
Your not the only one, My Several of my sites have disappeared to and can be only be found by Site:URL
You may just be viewing old serps - on an old data datacenter. Hold fire and don't panic at this stage - there seems to be a lot going on right now and I am hoping that google are switching between old and new data.
are your yo-yo'ing websites relatively new? How competitive is the subject? Reason I'm asking is the two that have dropped are pretty "fresh out of the box", where as the other two that I'd been working on have remained pretty stable.
Actually many of webmasters also experienced like that. I think it's normal, it's just part of google updates.
I have a few sites and I noticed this for 2 decent ones, one week ok rank next totally wiped from google and only traffic form other SE like yahoo.. its annoying isn't it google webmaster tools suck, I mean they give no reasons for these drops
