    Hi,

This information may help others. We can do it faster than I could alone. :) Let's (please) build a list of major domain name sources who allow free transfer when the domain is sold. Like this:

Company Name /// Current Yearly Domain Price (for .com TLD) /// Is transfer free? /// Verified (2nd person)?

    For example:

    1and1 /// $5.99 /// leaning towards 'Yes' (no 1st or 2nd verification, yet) ///

Ipowweb (sp?) /// $2.99!! /// Free transfer? (I don't know, but please help find out) ///

Netfirms /// $4.99 /// Free transfer? (I don't know, but please help find out) ///

Go Daddy /// $6.99 (or very similar) /// 99% sure the answer is 'Yes' /// awaiting 'verify by a 2nd person'.

If someone is willing to verify any of these please do (I will help update the newest information). If you add a 'favorite other company', please, take a moment to 'refresh the current list' (ie. copy/ paste 'the list' and add your info )

    Thank you very much,
    MGH

Awkward because prices change with special offers, bulk buys, coupons etc.
Any list would need to be updated weekly at least, which would be hard to do in this format.

Great, good point. How about just the free transfer part? (if no one helps, I'll eventually do these four myself):

    1and1 /// leaning towards 'Yes' (no 1st or 2nd verification, yet) ///

Ipoweb (sp?) /// Free transfer? (I don't know, but please help find out) ///

Netfirms /// Free transfer? (I don't know, but please help find out) ///

Go Daddy /// 99% sure the answer is 'Yes' /// awaiting 'verify by a 2nd person'.

1and1 / 'Yes' Free transfer (according to support) / (no 2nd verification, yet)

Ipower / Free transfer? (I don't know, but please help find out) /

Netfirms / 'Yes' Free transfer (according to support) / (no 2nd verification, yet)

Go Daddy / 99% sure the answer is 'Yes' / moved into the 'no brainer' category "Yes"

Anyone with experience care to comment?
    Thank you,
    MGH

Ipower $2.99 / Free transfer? NO $20 and I'm convinced they outright lied to me. He clearly said 'ICANN charges $20 for change of (consumer) ownership 'industry-wide'. He seemed to say I could transfer, in my name (to another host) for free, and very clearly (twice) said $20 for ICANN if the registered owner changes.

I am honestly reporting on this possible tell-tale lie.
