Major Bug In the DP Forum Software

I am having a serious problem with my account.

I cannot delete a spam private message (PM) I received from last week. Nothing works. Not only won't it delete, but every time I go to a new page the $#%@! PM POPUP system keeps telling me:

You have a new private message.
Sender:
Title: ''
Click OK to view it, or cancel to hide this prompt.

It is maddening. I tried turning off PM popups, but that won't work either. Should I just set up a new account or is there some easy fix to this? Any help would be greatly appreciated
