Is it a good idea to have your main keywords in the title and description on all pages for a site? In other words, can you "dilute" or otherwise mess up ranking for keywords by having all your the interior pages include your main keywords as well. (those keywords are in the body of the interior pages as well)

Yes! You def can hurt your rankings.

I make one-post, one-page websites that have little content and never go back and do anything to them, and they hit google page one 90% of the time.

Just use your keyword on your most recent post/page, and add the keys that relate to that term from the google wonder wheel.

    Good luck

Interesting. So lets say I have 50 pages with good unique content, and they are all related to my main keyword, how many of the 50 should have those keywords in the title and description? Anyone else want to weigh in? Thanks.

You can use your main keyword in all page titles and description as long as all your pages have content relevant to your primary keyword.

Let's say, I have a site of SEO training. I can use "SEO trainer" or "SEO training" in every page title because the site is focusing on SEO training only.

If you have something similar, than it is a good option to add your primary keyword in all page titles.

Hence, SEO is all about keeping things natural... So as long as you are keeping it natural, it's good for your site and ranking.

    Good luck,

This makes sense and seems consistent with everything else I have learned about SEO. Thanks for the tip biztrendz.

Use your main keyword on all pages, but optimize your pages for different long tailes and other search terms.

Thanks nicolas, this is exactly what I was looking for. It is a pretty basic idea i guess but something was not clicking. I get it now and will start implementing it on my site. Thanks again!

I would try to be natural about it. Use variations. Mostly, you should just use a logical, descriptive titles that correspond to the content on the page.

Don't keyword stuff. It will be obvious to your visitors and is becoming increasingly obvious to the search engines.
