    Does anyone else use mailchimp?

I cant beleive i dont fit their terms since im under nutritional supplements. So i got a big Deny.

I am building a deals website that lists all the lowest prices on bodybuilding supplements not some sorta acai scam stuff. I can understand the restriction but it also depends on the context of the site.

Slickdeals and spoofee should be banned as well.

Thats the point i would like to make they offer the same content as me.

Cant see any reason why i would be denied now.

If i was building a acai supplement price grabber i can see the issues.

Their loss i will build some cool api tools for their competitors and offer them free. Thanks mailchimp!!

All i have to say is BOO and their support is not great either i was expecting much more.

We work with them right now. They offer a nice solution for email marketing. Anyway, there are many company's that offer pretty much the same.

I have used them in the past and not had the same problems as you. Shame you had a bad experience from them. Keep trying

Email services like Mailchimp are a rip-off anyway. Get some bulk mailer software (such as Gammadyne Mailer). It's a one-time expense. If you have high volume and cannot relay email though your ISP or Gmail, rent a relaying SMTP server from authsmtp.com. It will still be cheaper.

Whats wrong with acai? Nothing wrong with it. Its half the scams that are running out there sending out spam.

    That's totally wrong.

Throw some email software on any old dedicated server and tell me how much you like your delivery rates.

The whole point of using a premium service is for delivery rate.

    70% vs 95% delivery

I'll pick the 95% delivery and day of the week.

In reality, you are losing money by being a cheap ass who wants to save a couple bucks.

i didnt think they chose which clients they have. i just thought they where an email client where you paid for marketing and you paid per email subscriber? i thought anyone could sign up even adult entertainment networks? thats weird....... i can understand them turning down for example spyware distributers or phishing scams as there illigal, even v1agr@ is legal i reckon they should accept anything thats legal but your website doesnt even sound dodgey, health products arent illigal, next minute it will be against the law to visit the doctor

Perhaps your dedicated server got blacklisted. I have not noticed any delivery rate problems with mine. Why would there be?

If you are in one of the standard datacenters, you will get black listed soon enough.

All it takes is one spammer on your c-class to ruin it for all of you.

In other words, your 'web hosting' datacenter is not a good enough.

I don't think it is common for an entire c-class to be blacklisted. It has certainly never happened to me in over 12 years of using dedicated servers.

I'm a big fan of Aweber, the cost is worth the service imo.

So all email services are a rip-off??

What about visual layout of the emails you send out? and in the lead generation process? Delivery rates? The ability to easily manage your list? The ability to separate prospects and customers? And tons of other things. I don't know if Mailchimp does any of this, but others certainly do.

Mailchimp does suck, big time. Use Aweber, or better yet, find one of those private lable companies using the Aweber software and still using the old, cheaper prices (don't know any off the top of my head but use google search). Also, iContact I think is a pretty good one.

The big email players (AWeber, iContact, etc) all have "white list" agreements with the big ISPs and webmail providers.

They have strict opt-in policies and in exchange the ISPs white-list the mail that these email service providers send... so the result is that more ends up in the inbox rather than junk.

You should definitely use an ESP.

Also - Mail Chimp can choose whoever they like for their clients... the don't necessarily suck because they don't want to work with your industry.

I think it's because they try to be more accommodating to the people the DO serve.

AWeber is VERY strict about opt-ins etc because they've had trouble in the past... there is no way you'll be able to import an email list into AWeber... ever. But Mail Chimp DOES let you. But to balance that out, they only work with certain industries.

They're not keen on working with many of the "online marketing" industries (MLM, internet business, etc)

    Their choice though.
