We recently switched our hosting provider and ever since we have had issues and complaints from customers that our emails have not been hitting their inboxes. On researching this, we have received mail delivery notifications like the one below in various cases; We've contacted our host and are waiting on a response, but needless to say we are less them impressed. Will a change of hosting provider solve this issue? It's difficult to understand as we only use our mailing for things like order confirmations and invoices, we send no unsolicited mail, not even an opt-in newsletter. Any answers & advice appreciated... WebDev
As you are having your own VPS then you are the responsible person to manage the mail issue from your server because you or your clients are sending bulk E-mails or virus infected E-mails from the server which is causing the mail server ip blacklisting issue.Contact your host and ask them to change the mail server ip and set the proper RDNS records and monitor the E-mail queue, it will help you to resolve the E-mail related issue......
I see this pretty often after migrations. The main reasons are: DNS Errors IP has negative sending history IP has no sender's history Most ISP's now use some type of sender's reputation filtering. If your IP or IP neighborhood has a negative history, your emails could be denied. In some cases, if there is no sender history, so they will block the IP. In the worst cases, you have an IP that was used by a spammer and will have to file removal requests at the ISPs. Here are some tools to help you check on the status of your DNS and sender reputation: Blacklist/Sender Reputation http://www.mxtoolbox.com/blacklists.aspx http://www.senderbase.org/ https://www.senderscore.org/ DNS http://www.intodns.com/ Here's a list of removal procedures for some popular ISPs. http://www.rackaid.com/resources/spam-blacklist-removal/
