    Hi guys,

    I received this mail from some guy and surprisingly that mail was in the spam folder. So I was wondering if this is a genuine mail or a fraud mail

    ==========================
    Dear Manager:

    We are a Domain Name registration service company, which is a professional Internet Domain Name Registration and dispute resolution organization in China.
    On May.30th,2010, We received HAITONG Investment company's application that they are registering the name " lazybuzz " as their Internet Keyword and " lazybuzz .cn "¡¢" lazybuzz .com.cn " ¡¢" lazybuzz .asia " ¡¢" lazybuzz .hk "domain names etc..,It is China and ASIA and HongKong domain names.But after auditing we found the brand name been used by your company. As the domain name registrar in China, it is our duty to notice you, so I am sending you this Email to check.According to the principle in China,your company is the owner of the trademark,In our auditing time we can keep the domain names safe for you firstly, but our audit period is limited, if you object the third party application these domain names and need to protect the brand in china and Asia by yourself, please let the responsible officer contact us as soon as possible. Thank you!

    Best regards,

    John

    I get these regularly. On several of the similar emails I have received, they are almost certainly lying about having received a request to register a domain name. Some of the domains they have claimed to have received requests to register are so localized and obscure, I can state with nearly 100% confidence that no one in China or Hong Kong would have any interest in the names, ever.

    They may be a legitimate registrar, so they may be able to legitimately register the names for you, but based on a similar email that one of my clients received and followed up on, the prices may be much higher than you would pay through another registrar.

    If you think that you should have country level domains to protect your domain name, then by all means do so, but I would check around and see whether there are other companies that will register the names at a lower cost.

    It's BS, as lcwadminbj and Business Attorney said.

    In Australia we occasionally receive this kind of thing in the MAIL. It's just silly.
