I just received the below email from google adsense team.. anybody else received a such email? how can i implement an adsense keyword filtering on my websites? what are the keywords that i have to bann? what is "pay to services", hacking, warez in google terms? are the reviewpage of torrent program considered warea, for example? any others advices are appreciated..thanks As you might know, we regularly review sites in the AdSense program for compliance with our program policies. We understand that it may be challenging for you to constantly monitor every single page because you have an extensive network of sites, many of which are updated frequently and contain a large amount of user-generated content. Nevertheless, to participate in AdSense you must ensure that pages containing your ad code comply with our program policies. Below are a couple of tips that may help you monitor your network for policy violations: 1. Perform a human evaluation of each site before placing ad code on the site's pages. 2. Proactively review pages with high page views at least once a week. 3. Install keywords filters (e.g. adult content, pay-to services, hacking content, gambling content, etc.), especially on pages containing user-generated content. Although we're unable to provide information on "keyword filtering" or "content filtering", you may wish to search for this information on Google. 4. Add a 'Report a violation' link to all pages with user-generated content. Please take the next week to review your network of sites for compliance with our policies and to begin implementing some of the suggestions above. Rest assured that we value every publisher in our program. We appreciate your understanding in this matter. Sincerely, The Google AdSense Team
I think so many people received the same. Just search in this AdSense forum. I remember seeing it before posted by some other member as well.
Yes...it was me....I received the email...almost the same...have not heard from adsense support or from replying to that email address....all the same makes me think it is some one mucking around.
It looks like a automatically generated message. Well suggestions there though. btw, I haven't received such mail.
Does anyone know of any tools / sites out there that can assist with the task of finding bad words i.e a site where you enter your url which is then scanned for bad words.
I just posted in another thread about this same issue. My gut tells me this E-mail came from someone that holds a good position in Google for keyword filtering and/or content filtering. Using a fear tactic to push their software is an easy sale. You can verify if Google actually sent the E-mail. Look at the E-mail headers and look for the originating IP address. Go to arin.net and put the IP in the blue "search whois" box and click search. If Google is not listed as the owner (actually reserved) of the IP, then it is probably spam. If it is spam, report it to Google. Maybe they can investigate who is sending this stuff out and take appropriate action.
Thats scary. I havent had one of these. No harm in checking your sites whether its from google or not.
