Magic of making up conversion rates have plummeted last 5-6 months.

    Hi guys,

I've been promoting the magic of making up for a good couple of years at least now. When I first started promoting the product I was getting close to $1.50 earnings per hop and over the long run never any less than $1 earnings per hop.

However, over the last 6 months my earnings per hop have plummeted to around $0.07 (Yes, that's 7 cents) earnings per hop. I looked at the landing page and nothing has changed, traffic sources are pretty much the same and I looked at the products gravity and it's pretty much still as popular as it's always been.

Luckily I don't rely on this product for income, it's a project I have long abandoned but it seems interesting that the conversions have fallen off a cliff as it were. Can anybody on here who also promote the magic of making up product confirm whether they have had similar experiences? Also any other clickbankers who may have experienced the same thing with other products and any possible explanations?

    Cheers.

Interesting. I think the conversion rate has dropped for a lot of products while for others it remains as high as it was.

I'm a little worried about the long term position of ebooks, especially as people can now get ordinary books as "ebooks".

I think the future will be a much narrower Clickbank ebook market or other, innovative, non-ebook digital products. Physical fulfillment could be a big growth area too.

There is so much information for free out there now, and face it, many of the CB products are pretty bad. In fact, a lot of the ones that teach you how to make thousands of dollars a month are misleading, as they all basically come down to spending your own money on Google Adwords as a newbie, leading people to your affiliate offer page, and then hoping that everyone will purchase the stuff. Anyone who tries this will quickly get taken to the cleaners by the experienced Google marketers.

Yes, this is very interesting indeed. I, myself, have seen many products that I personally promote suffer due to low conversion rates, and as rolf mentioned above, it's possibly due to the influx and adoption of eReaders, and possibly because many of these products are available so cheaply on eReader stores (i.e. Kindle Store, Nook etc.). I think this is also due to the economic downturn. I don't know exactly what is happening in the USA, because I live in Australia, but it seems to me that people are less inclined to spend money due to financial uncertainty.

The answer to this problem: rather than fight against a growing trend, go with it, find ways to make more money off current trends (i.e. I bought a lot of Silver months ago, and I have made money off it). Look for new opportunities in the eBooks Market, because I reckon there is a lot of growth in that market still to come. Also, if you have the time, read 'Get Rich Click' by Marc Ostrofsky; it's a great read!

In response to JoesfromPhilly, there has always been free information out there, yet people still come to ClickBank products, and any informative products that sell information, only because of persuasive marketing (i.e. emotions), and because they feel that having a company provide them rather than doing the research themselves seems reassuring to a potential customer.

Just my ideas. Please feel free to dispute or add to this! :)
