I use OpenCart for my shop and with few extensions and custom changes everything is perfect (no problems in about 1 year). In my opinion, OpenCart is the best.

If you have dedicated hosting go ahead with magento , otherwise use opencart . Magento is like hummer, Opencart is just like BMW X3 . :)

Go with Magento - you probaly need something that can adjust to multiple languages and currencies. And you can with Magento multi store functionalety have one admin itereface and a nearly unlimited number of web shops running from different domains.

The downside with magento as it does not come cheep to do customization or hosting. The advantage is you get a great platform that will adjust to your needs!

Magento is the best e commerce platform I have found, a bit difficult to learn doing complex things, but the features and flexibility is great. Can't go wrong.

Definitely opencart for a worldwide (assume you need multi-language) and modern-feel shopping cart software and free.

Magento has free and paid version and I doubt the free version is as good as opencart in terms of functions. Opencart has a lot of useful functions (such as reward points, affiliate) out of the box.

Opencart by itself is already powerful, I purchased a few extensions just to make it even more perfect. I really doubt, with the little money I spent, can do the same thing in Magento.

Magento is always ' the first choice' but again it would require some coder to help you with maintaining it regularly.

I would suggest you to use Opencart if you are a beginner and don't want to invest much of your time in setting up of your store. Opencart is easy to set up and use and has all the basic features required for the startup. Also there is huge pool of plugins and modules available for Opencart for any of your custom needs.
Magento will require you to have good designing knowledge and understanding of its structure. If you have the knowledge and time to invest and want to use advanced features than Magento might be an option.

Based on your requirements, I would suggest using Magento. If you are looking for an easier solution the you can use a hosted solution like MagentoGo or Volusion etc.

    Hi,

Both are very good. but You need to know what level you want. how advance you want.

for. e.g. if you need ERP integration or POS integration magento is best option for that. Its structure is not so easy. but Its very smart and robust. Opencart is still growing.. In magento you will find thousands of extension free or reasonable in market in its marketplace.
