Hey guys, I am having a bit of trouble with the transaction emails on Magento My business offers a disc repair service (http://www.discslikenew.com), so the fulfillment steps are different to most product based ecommerce websites. For example instead of the following steps; 1) Payment made (Processing) 2) Order confirmation email sent (Processing) 3) Item shipped (Complete) I need to do the following; 1) Payment Made (Processing) 2) Order confirmation email sent (Processing) 3) Freepost envelope dispatched (for customer to ship discs to us in) 4) Disc received 5) Repaired discs dispatched As far as I can see there are only two things I can do - send them an Order Confirmation (Send Email) and Freepost Envelope Dispatched (Ship) - I then run out of steps? Any idea on how I can get around this, it's pretty important to keep the punters informed as our process is a little more complicated than most ecommerce websites. Anthony
Well, there is a mod but it does not appear updated for 1.4 http://www.magentocommerce.com/magento-connect/eitai2001/extension/1468/order-status http://amasty.com/order-status.html is a paid one. http://www.magentocommerce.com/boards/viewthread/9976/ explains how to do it manually, you just have to get a few posts into the thread. hope that helps, Nigel
Nigel, that is brilliant thanks. The Amasty extension looks very good, but can you tie in those order statuses with the appropriate sales email to notify the customer? Their demo only shows the Order/Order Status and not the Sales Emails so I am not sure if I can tie them together ) Anthony
You can create separete email template for each one and i think we cannot change the flow of mail sending but you can assign template for each one if you want to change the flow you have edit core file which takes long time
Have you tried to use an extension? If not, i recommend the E-goi Magento extension - Just search on magento connect If you have that criteria on your magento store, you can easily send through the extension
