Magento or Oscommerce?

Magento is easy for developers or Oscommerce? Which is the best e-commerce system.. magento is very slow also.

 

I recommend Magneto, it's one of the most supported and is easy to design around.

 

But magento is very slow.. oscommerce USE STS for quick design

 

I use Oscommerce, and I think it is better. It is not perfect, but once you know it it is ok.

 

Magento 1.4 was released last night. If your having speed issues read the manual and tune some stuff. It is not that slow and oscommerce does not belong in the same conversation as Magento. Magento wins hands down.

I would personally recommend PrestaShop, many of my clients have switched over to PrestaShop from osCommerce and just love it. It's way more easier to use and more professional too.

 

- oscommerce is a bit clunky & php4
- magento - I think you need a dedicated server
- we are currently using creloaded at our toy shop
Prestashop looks simple yet effective - I am thinking of sticking a shop up at Welsh Baccalaureate and I think I might use it

 

Magento is a much more complex platform to work with but it also means higher development costs if you're up for customizations and stuff.

 

i would use wordpress with a shop template, they are cool
