Magento -- How do I set it so that free shipping is calculated after the discount

    How do I set it so that free shipping is calculated after the discount code is applied?

    In my shop I have it set for free shipping on orders greater than 50. I also have a 50% off code.

    If someone makes a 60 order and uses the 50% off code their grand total is $30 and that still get free shipping. How do I not allow this to happen?

    free shipping is a shiping method setting. discount code is a cart price rule

    You can setup Free Shipping to run as a Shopping Cart Price Rule under Promotions, then set the Priority to a value lower than the Priority set on the other rule that's conflicting. 0 is the highest priority and runs first before all other rules, you want the free shipping to run afterwards. So when I say lower priority, I mean a higher number. Currently working fine for me on www.paulbyronshoes.com even without the priority set higher if you want to try that first.
