Anyone here promote their sites outside of the net? I.e. through magazines? I've got one of my press releases published in a magazine (because I work for them) but was thinking of sending some out/around. I also wondered whether any of the more successful among you have paid for ads in magazines? How'd that work out? Anyone done this? Anyone know any good places to try and get in? (specifically for me fitness/training/writing related??)
If you're targeting local people, I think classified ads in local paper could be cheaper than magazine.
You can be cheap.. and print a series of small bits of paper. Goto your local library, goto the section your site is about. Eg Motorbikes, and just slip the bit of paper with your web address in.
