Before downloading Magento, check if your web server is compatible to host Magento site. You can check it at http://www.magentocommerce.com/know...-know-if-my-server-is-compatible-with-magento once. If you are on a shared host, they should provide you with One click installers to install Magento. Else, you will have to register with Magento & then download Magento's latest version.
