Hi I created my forum www.thejavacode.com like 2 years ago about java technology and till now I still did not get to have users to participate I have a lot of users registered (Lots of them are spam anyway) and I posted many posts myself but still no one is contribuing in it how can I make people to post in my forum?
I took a look at your forum and if you want people to participate following amount of posts are not helping you: Total posts 194 | Total topics 699 That's a small amount seen over 2 years and a big reason why nothing is happening. It's a small niche and just getting average joe to post is not as easy as with a general forum. But I also noticed you have a large member base. 1) Try and find people interested and skilled at java and pay them to post about java. You can find cheap labor all over the world, especially on other forums. 2) Send out newsletters when you have something interesting to say or there's interesting topics on the board and link to them. 3) If you want the forum to grow, you need to post more often. I also noticed you have small amounts of traffic to your website and that also means you dont rank for various keywords related with Java. Submit to web directories, purchase web directory listings that are worth it. Post blog comments on other blogs that are related with java/your topics. That's just a few pointers.
What you need it to bring in new users that are actively looking for a site like your so I would consider doing some seo work on your site.
u need 1. a lot of content and artificial enviroment of "participiation" and 2. budget for promotion and bringing traffic to the forum. if you don't have budget for promotion then #1 wont have its full potential, if you have #1 but not 2, then you will waste money paying for posters.
Before you can get active member, yourself need to be active, mean keep on creating quality post to attrach the member. At the same time, you need to do some promotion and marketing as well
It's not about how many members you have, its the active members that count. Have some sort of incentive program? Pay the top posters a small prize
