Made my First Sale - Extremely paranoid and confused.

    Hi! :)
My site has been up and running for one week.
    I've made my first sale!
I have 3 affiliates signed up with me, and one of them made a sale.
    So my profit is $8.50

But what I don't understand, the full amount went to my paypal account.

So now, do I have to pay the affiliate 75%?

Also, I'm extremely paranoid that something could go wrong, like the customer doing a chargeback and also worried they may request a refund within 60 days (my guarantee).

So do I hold off before paying my affiliate?

I want to do things right. :) I definately want to pay my affiliate, I don't want to cheat him in any way - but I have to make sure that my payment will stay and not be chargebacked or anything like that.

Also I have to pay a $3 fee to paydotcom.com. They charge fees?

Also, since I used my dad's SSN, what's gonna happen?

    Thanks for the answers.
What should I do now in order to keep this customer?
Does anyone know any good mailing list scripts?

    :)

Did the product cost $8.50? If it did then I think that all of the fees and commisions were alreadly deducted. I believe paydotcom would handle chargebacks. Can you provide a little more info on your situation?

Hey login, thats what my dad said. And he was surprised when I gave out a 75% commission rate, but I told him, that's what most clickbank products do. lol

So the product costs $37, and affiliates take 75%.
I'm confused at looking at all these numbers and info... But this is what it said:
    I am really confused! lol

But it's something like, I have to pay the guy $25.50, paydotcom $3, and my profits are $8.50 . Yeah so when I add it all up it's $37.

Not bad, I thought I was going to get only $5! lol

It's not clickbank, here the money goes directly to my paypal account.

So the whole $37 went in your paypal account?

Here's what I would do. Pay the guy his $25 this one time and make him happy. Change your 60 day guarantee to 30 days. Let any new affiliate sellers know that payments will be held for 30 days. Hold all future money for 30 days, then pay out.

    BOG has good ideas.
As for your fathers ssn, as long as the money is at Paypal there should be nothing to worry about. I am not from USA, but normally it works like this: When the money goes into a bank account its normally treated like income and should be taxed. But expenses to make the money should be deducted so you just pay tax from the profit.

Ah right. How would I calculate expenses? Would that include all the directory submissions I've done and advertising costs?

So I should pay the guy $25 right away?
And isn't a longer money back guarantee better than a shorter one? hopefully they'll forget too... ?

Your expenses is all the money you have ever used in any connection with that site + internet costs + computer costs + any expenses you can relate to the site in any way. If you paid a friend of you $1000 to tell you how to build the site, your friend should give you a recite and you can deduct that also and if you spend $5 to take the bus to his home... Be creative.
