A lot of people say not to bother (like you mentioned) with amazon because of the lower percentage of commission. If you pick products that are $50 and up your commission is $2 and up. Then after so many sales your commission is raised to all current and past sales THAT month. I like working with amazon, more products, very trusted site by almost everyone and many times people get to amazon and Amazon starts doing their upsales as well. They sometimes buy more than what they are looking for but you get all the commission even if it isn't the product you promoted!
Nice to know that Amazon works. I was rejected the first time around. Going to try again, once I get my second blog up and running.
Wow that great job! can you share your experience within ebook. I think if you make this ebook, it can very usefull for others.
Forget about it, nobody will ever tell you. @ OP Congrats! I started testing Amazon last month as well, made few sales. Let' see how it goes further.
Some people share their sites! I was quite suprised to see the guy on problogger.net share his digital camera site that makes a LOT of income.
How did you get traffic onto your websites? I am an affiliate for amazon too, but I have not gotten any buyers. I have around 3000 clicks total for a month, but not one person has bought any thing.
Aditya, Thanks for sharing, and I'm happy to see that you found success. I have been doing Amazon for a couple of years, and more recently, Ebay as well. I gave up on Adsense... I think it's a cop-out for people who can't sell (IMHO). I have a bunch of blogs that promote Amazon products. My method is very simple: I generate how-to and buyer's guides to create unique content for SEO, and I have a WordPress plugin that builds a proper shopping environment inside the blog. All of my blogs earn at least $50 per month with Amazon, and some earn over $400. My best month to date on a single blog was close to $600, and I was working my butt off to get it. I keep seeing Clickbank products popping up teaching people how to get rich by creating hundreds of blogs to earn a few Adsense dollars each month. What a waste of effort. Can you imagine having to update/upgrade/modify 200, 300, 400 blogs? Much better to earn $100 per month on 25 good blogs than $10 per month on 250!
This is a great post. You are absolutely spot on - it's better to make $100 on 25 blogs than to make $10 on 250 blogs. Using how-to and article writing have always been a good way to make one's content unique. The only problem I have with this technique is that you very quickly run out of energy to continually coming up with articles for your products. Other, I think it's a great idea.
Helen, Actually, I find it to be very easy to come up with topics for blog posts. Before I create a product blog, I go to Amazon to see how many products fit into that niche and how many good reviews there are for those products. Then I go to Yahoo! Answers to see how many questions have been asked about that niche. If there are lots of reviews and questions on Yahoo! Answers, you have a hit. Now I can go to Yahoo! Answers and get great post ideas day after day, no problem. David
Great work, good to see someone who understands how to use good SEO combined with market research and use that to drive targeted traffic.
Nice job Amazon is a great affiliate program.. they know how to sell and they are trusted by many customers
