Hey, Weirfire. I am thinking about this myself but haven't talked to anyone I know. From reviews I have gathered that it is worth it. Flash 8 has of course support for the player number 8. I know from reading it can compile server side so that must mean more open-ended back end? It also has Actionscript 2.0. These are the major points I am wanting. I heard there is no Freehand, which I have never used. DreamWeaver is the main I am worried, and it sounds good. I know it supports a lot more server side functions. CSS 2.0 is supposed to render in preview as well. Fireworks imports .fla retaining all the vectors and paths. That's all I know, for now!
Studio 8 is awesome. I really recommend it. The rendering of CSS is much better now. Coding is also much easier. Have not tried flash yet.
Yeap. i am trying studio 8 now. fireworks havent changed much except for some addons (which were available as extensions for the MX) and for the css export. dreamweaver on the other hand has changed a lot and is now the best in the buisness. i bet none can beat it now. extensive css support, html, xhtml validation, truly stunning. its a value for money.
they wont. coz they have millions of people ready to buy it at this price. so they wont decreate it by some dollars just to get a few more customers. they offer u trial for 30 days. try it and u will pay them autmoatically, what ever they ask. its cool man, studio 8 is.
I dont have £299 to spare for now! I'm open to donations if you really want me to have it lol. I might get it in the next 6 months however but I'll need to save.
If you have to feel it you dont need to pay them that much amount. just spend some time d/ling the s/w and u can try for 30 days. they wont charge u for trying it.
Thanks for the advice! I will try it some time but I'm scared that it may only be torturing myself by showing me all the extra stuff I cant have!
I think their upgrade deal is really nice but yeah, I am in the USA and I don't have the $400 right now.
Not at all. It will tease you only if u r a proffessional designer or coder. if you use it just for html editing then MX will do the job for u, and u wont feel much of an advantage with 8 (i mean value for money).
I dont think anyone in their right mind would pay for Studio MX unless they were going to use it professionally. lol. It would be so easy to get some copied version but the main reason I bought it was so that I could develope flash sites and sell flash designs as a service.
I've got it for use at my company. Its really useful, for me its Flash 8 which has really polished up key loose ends. The discontinuation of Flashpaper is somewhat disappointing though... Wing
