Hi all, I was wondering if I could pick your brains for a minute. Im new to using Dreamweaver MX, as have alwasys long handed drafted out basic html and .asp code. I notice there is a feature on there to create a template based website. Can anyone tell me the following about the Dreamweaver based templates you can create.... 1] How do they fair in google SERPS compared to hand crafted pages. Does the spider recognise the server delivered end crafted page as a complete piece of html including all the headers and keywords in the template etc? 2] Can you have multiple web template deisgns within one website - such as a template for articles, a template for a forum, a template for a shop....or are you limited to just one template for the one website. 3] Has anyone ever had decent success using Dreamweaver templates? Or can point me to any successful sites to look at that have used this. Cheers for your help...
I've used dreamweaver before but personally there are too much features in it, I'd rather use simpler tools, but it's just a matter of personal preferences. It should be fine for SEO as long as you don't use frames in your site, you can manually add meta tags if you like. As per the template things, I like to search for free templates out there and modify them using dreamweaver.
Thank you for the response and advice. Myself, I have also always used simpler tools until now. Ahhhh, so you can pick up free templates actually can you....do you have a list of any resources out there where one maybe able to pick up some of these templates to take a look? DO you know also if you are limited to one template per site, or can you interchange multiple site templates?
