Macports installation of Apache

    I have installed a version of Apache using macports making my file structure like so:

    /opt/local/htdocs
    /opt/local/www

    I was told to put all webby files into htdocs not www. However I also installed phpmyadmin using macports which was installed into www. I wondered why? Does it have something to do with security of certain files?

    Can anybody explain? Do I make sense?
