Hello Everyone I have been running design contests happily here on Digitalpoint for years with no problems. Only great results! On October 19th I ran a design contest for a machinery logo: https://forums.digitalpoint.com/threads/50-logo-for-tools-machinery-brand.2860180/ The contest ran its course & a winner was announced in the thread. Just after this while we were discussing mods a forum admin posted a link demonstrating that the design was already in use on another website. As well as this a contest participant sent a PM with different links demonstrating very very strong similarities to an existing design. I obviously passed this information on to the business owner who was very disappointed. He really liked the design in question but this evidence was too much and he did not want to proceed with this designer. He felt the fairest and best thing to do is to run the contest again. So, here goes: I would like a logo for a Tool brand. The contest will run for just 48 hours. One 12hr extension is possible if we don’t have enough contest entries but this is unlikely. The winner will be paid $50 by Paypal. Full contest details are contained in this link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1HbqTuirAGLRQdiT8kAsuffkKhQlGjmkM5Yi09Oscms8/edit?usp=sharing Thank you for looking as always. Prune
Absolutely the right thing to do and the right way to proceed. By doing this you are demonstrating that you are an honest and ethical CH.
@Spoiltdiva Im glad to hear you saying this because I wasnt really sure about the correct way to proceed. My main concern is fairness. The business owner was following the thread and made his own mind up and said he did not want to proceed so this made things clear for me...
@remus94 thank you for getting the contest up and going. While we like the clear readable font the graphic used suggests the construction/building trade more than machinery. @logos4all, thank you for the submissions in posts number 5 & 6. The business owner likes the cog style graphic & appreciates the different colour variations. @getdomain4u, thank you for the submission. The business owner likes the cog style graphic but is not so keen on the colour or the thin lines in the top half of the graphic. @galalogo, thank you for your submissions. I see that you have resubmitted your entries from the previous contest. Thank you for that. I have already provided feedback for them so I will not redo this. Also thank you for the 2 new submissions. Of the 2 we prefer the one in post # 10. Not as keen on the cog in post #9. @divineworld thank you for your submission. The business owner likes the cog design but thinks the font used could be a bit more readable.
