Hey guys, I figured this is the best place to ask this. So I'm looking to get a Macbook Pro laptop. The first question I would like to know from any Mac guys, is it worth it paying more for the 15" or getting the 13"? Also the speeds of the 13" differ from 2.26GHz to 2.53GHz - is the difference between the two noticable? Also, one more - the 2GB HD - is it big enough for gaming and such or should I get the 4GB? It's tough for me because I've never had a Mac before and I've no idea how much difference the performance of the machines will be in comparison to the price. Thanks for your help guys
To me, I bought a MacBook Pro 2.26GHz before with 2GB Ram, it's good for using designing programs and regular stuff, but not for gaming. It's your best bet to upgrade to 4 GB Ram (Costs additional like $60). I have owned 2.26Ghz and 2.53Ghz and to me, I have no noticed a lot of difference. I've ran similar stuff on both Mac's and not much of a difference. If your going for gaming, I'd advise you to get the 15" one.
the 13" has an onboard videocard (worthless) so if you're doing anything that requires one (gaming, graphics work, HD video out) it is simply not an option. It is definitely best to go with the 4gb of ram in eithercase as software will only get more demanding as time goes by. Just running an operating system at this point is not recommended with less than 1gb. Hamza is right to have noticed little difference between a 2.26 ghz and 2.53 ghz processor as there is very little difference between them. The extra $ would be better spent on a SSD if speed is really an issue.
