Mac Versus P.C.

I keep seeing these ads on T.V. with Apple Mac bagging the crap out of PC's - you know the ones some non-cool guy being talked to by a cool "mac".

If Mac is so great why did they modify their system to run so it would be PC compatible?

Opinions? Which is better and why?

Surprising as it may be, this topic has already been discussed.
    I like both.

I think the real question is Atari vs Commodore

I got a free Amiga 2000 from my mums work a few years ago, ended up throwing it out cause I coudn't work out how to boot it :p

I've still got my Atari STe - I used to use it for music, it has the tightest MIDI clock on the planet.

My first computer was a Commodore Vic-20 (back in the dark ages), I remember hours of bashing out BASIC and saving it to cassette drive. Then I didn't touch computers for about 10 years until I got into MIDI and bought an Atari STe.
Ahh the golden years of computers.

I'm tried of bitchy advertising ¬¬ Mac and PC started it, and it was funny. But then other companies started to just bitch about their competitors and that's not the image I'd like to give a business if I was in charge of it's advertising.

Also, I don't think PCs should be compared to Macs, they're both used for different things.
