Mac Newb questions

    I know these questions are going to be absolutely idiotic, but I don't know the first thing about Macs.

    If I get a Mac, will I be able to connect to my internet network at home (either wirelessly or hardwired) if all the other computers on my network are windows-based?

    Also, are there only certain monitors that work with Macs, or is it possible to use a monitor that I already have that was used with a PC?
