MAC address instead of IP

    hi, i run a site which limits user actions by IP but the users have figured out the wonders of proxies...so i was wondering if it is possible to do the same thing but check computer MAC address instead. if that's not possible, is there any other way?

    MAC address isn't sent to your server so you can't filter by that.

    You can try Cookies. Even though they are easy to delete, and easy to completely block from being added, it's worth a shot I suppose.

    yeah, i already had that in mind...but my visitors are quite dedicated in beating the system, and once one figures out its cookies, it will spread quickly through the chat...its a nightmare
