Many says, no, you can't make lyrics site because the content is illegal. Many says, no, google won't like your site bcos you have duplicate content. NO, u wrong! If google don't like duplicate content, why many lyric sites still around? In fact, this brilliant bloger http://lyricsmusicvideo.blogspot.com can make up to $200 aday or $5-6000 amonth. About 15,000 unique visitor and 40,000 page views aday. Copyright Problem? The giant lyric site such as metrolyrics.com says: Tips how not to get sue: only include lyrics from "very popular artist" or major commercial record labels. So you trying to say that lyric blogs are a good niche? The site you gave us has atleast 8 ads , so flooding your page with ads will obvious make people click. Do you know the click per rate? P.S Your avatar is cool.
Makes sense, popular artist are to busy with very large projects. They don't have time to come after little sites that display the lyric of there songs. lol at the funny before and after weight lost ad on your site...ya sure.
What kind of traffic does this site get? All search engine? If so, must have done some good optimization!
About 70% from google, but still.. 70% of 15,000 unique visitor is alot. Rest from youtube and directory. What he did was.. only post "BRAND NEW lyrics". That way it get ranked higher. He's even faster than metrolyrics.com
The fact that i dont know whos lars ulrich, then he isnt popular. What i say about popular artists such as, britney, beyonce, JayZ, Rihanna, etc. They generate more crowd, usually girls, and girls are stupid, they tend to click ads, anything that is blinking.
Personally i feel lyrics are fine to share it helps in understanding the real words of a song. and if an artist is not willing or too busy to share a person who has understood the real words could share it
I think that its a risky bussiness, if google thinks your copying the lyrics your SERP could get destroyed dont you think?
well, just create a new site/ blog again...lol.... I was surprise that a lyrics site can make quite a decent income monthly...
I have a lyrics site for just one artist. Here's the current Google Analytics stats as of this minute: Visits Today: 70 Last Week: 544 Last Month: 2,646 And I make a few cents a day, so yeah, lyrics sites aren't that bad.
great info here and good way to make some adsense money, but the risk of getting sued is still there.
I'd be really worried about being sued, and also it sounds like a lot of work to get up to date all the time :S
