"Lyric Sites"

    Lyric Site's have always been a huge mystery to me. Some of the large one has 10's of thousands of lyrics in the database.

    How are they getting these? Truely user submitted? Some secret source I am not aware of ?

    I am wanting to start a lyric site that is not full of zango popups and toolbar installs

    They are using rss feeds from other sites.

    One user submits them and they all get it.

    as far as I know its just they all scrape each other (or the big ones)

    they collect lyrics from other sites i suppose, i don't know if people would generally submit 10,000 lyrics to new websites which are not known to them, it could be possible with branding and promotions, or some sort of revenue sharing for the writers, rewards .
