Lycos have launched a directory, http://directory.lycos.co.uk It's $49 a year to get listed, It doesn't have any PageRank at the moment but I would expect it has quite a few juicy links, it is in association with Linkcentre.com.
Wow that is cheap comparing to what it will be in a couple of years, wont suprise me if it becomes PR6 soon. Also, notice how big corporation have adult categories, while the little dogs like us try to stay away from having any adult categories (netcenter.ws has an adult category) Little dog have morals Big dogs have money
That's a pretty bold claim to state that adult categories are immoral... I think they're perfectly moral & it's more a matter of personal preference of the owner. Try explaining to your wife or kids that that you're just reviewing porn sites for inclusion in your directory ;-)
Woof woof lol... What is a big Corporation ? I always thought it was choice..... Both my adult directories are being indexed great No not married and have no kids so its on.. gotta love those ads $ $ thx malcolm
The majorities of directories i see here do not have Adult categories and would deny acceptance to an adult sites. Google, Yahoo, MSN have Adult stuff listed on it's search and DMOZ I believe have adult listing aswell. I'm fine with Legal-adult content. I would accept Playboy-like sites and would not accept Hustler as it is hardcore, but hey, I will bookmark it for re-review Curently I only have accepted two adult sites...Japanese girl site and Adult toy store site, what a combo! LinkCentre Premium Listing (1 year) Amount £49.95 or Premium listings are US$89.95 for one year. Further information is available after submitting your free listing. and for UK only. It tells me that outside UK.....I did not see anything for free.
The free ride is over. Time to invest in what you believe in. You do believe in yourself and your own work dont you?
She'll probably start to think that job is evil , i've no problems with adult categories as far as they are well established and doesn't offer child pornography. Sex sites are ok, half the traffic on the web (probably more and that wouldn't shock me) is related to adult stuffs Problem with porn is that it's a very saturated field and the amount of real good websites is extremly low...
Yeah I thought porn was the reason the internet was put into place anyways. It's getting cluttered with all this other crud, like I really got DSL to research and better myself. Pleeeease...
No, but apparently you have. Sucks to be you. toke toke put the pipe down son. like is siad, the free ride is overrrrrrrrr....
You arent searching very well are you... Most directories do in fact have a catagory you mite be able to slip in.... or they allow a few selected links into a catagory thats a few pages deep in thier directory. I dont see that it will hurt any directory to list a few depending on their choice as to allow or reject. Now....If you accepted a toy store i dont see the harm in a few more thx malcolm
I unfortunatly am constantly vistimised for having a adult vacation site. Once you mention the word adult, everyone thinks of porn, there is a big difference. I keep away from any hard core images or language. I built my site with no experience and have changed the style 3 times. I sit with a PR4 and know that with the traffic I have I could maybe get to a 6 if I could obtain the correct links. It is unfortunate that I feel victimised but I do agree that onlinedude and others that it can be difficult dealing with sites when you have a spouse and especially children around. The worst mistake I made was registering a domain with the word adult in it, I should of used something different and tried to get ranked with the content and not the title and description, but we all live and learn. I suppose for a newbie with 12 keywords ranked in google.com top 10, 7 in the top 5 and all 12 number 1 in google.co.uk I am one of the lucky ones. I also have a 14 month old forum with 4000 active members and growing daily. I am now looking at learning about adsense, maybe there is a small oppertunity there. Keep up the good work everyone, this is a great forum with a lot of great people.
