Hi guys, I'm just got a new host and I'm now using LXAdmins, it has taken me a while to figure everything out, but there is one thing I can't figure out. I can't send mail with PHP and mail() and I can't figure out why. I guess the settings are in {Server Mail Settings} "It is very essential that you set the my name to a properly resolvable hostname, since otherwise, many public mailservers like hotmail will reject mails from your server." So it asks for my name, do I just put any domain name there or what? I tried with one of my info's but still didn't work. Help please
maybe the configuration here can help: http://us2.php.net/mail ... and set your hostname to what your server is setup on... if you want to find out your current hostname look in /etc/hosts or /etc/ look for files containing the hostname prefix
Thanks, but I'm a real noob and have only hosted with GoDaddy and such before. I can't find this "etc" and stuff
Actually, I see now that it does send out e-mails, but Hotmail won't recieve them. My personal privat website could recieve it.
well hotmail usually blocks most stuff, and you get to etc, by goign into ssh and browse those directories for the files i mentioned, if your a noob (i am somewhat too so dont worry) go into filebrowser and look for it manually.
