....due to utilizing excessive resources. With out any notice whatsoever. The main culprits are my 2 directories that have about 30,000 links and average about 300+ visitors a day. I also have 2 more directories that only receive about 75 visitors a day. I have a forum with about 230 members and 5 other sites that are relatively small. Lunarpages claims that PHP processing is the main issue causing the excessive CPU usage. They recommend that I "upgrade" to a virtual private server @$39.95 month or a dedicated server @$100.00/month. This is way out of my budget. Mind you I'm pretty much a novice in the internet website world. My question is what web host would you recommend to support my sites. Should I stay with Lunarpages and upgrade or is their another company that can support my sites for less? Any help would be appreciated.
Well yesterday i was looking for a vps aswell cheap one and bought http://fsckvps.com/hosting/ there is a coupon which will give u 50% Off for first month get that from webhostingtalk..
Could you tell us the usage of BW and Space. Maybe I can host you a shared pack. Since I can't really believe you would use excessive resources with that low number of visitors.
If upgrading is really not an options, you can look for optimization. Also try to prune things that you aren't using. And are you sure that the traffic is bonafide? What if they are voracious bots other than mainstream ones who just request each and every page and cause unnecessary increased load.
