[LTH] English Speaking Article Writers | Long-Term Continuous Work

Discussion in 'Content Creation' started by carsomyr, Jun 18, 2009.

I am looking for writers to rewrite articles on a very regular basis. I will need a minimum of 10 articles submitted for my approval PER DAY in a zip file in .txt (notepad) format, with a minimum of 50 articles submitted per week.

I will supply you with all the articles to be rewritten as well as keywords. The keywords I provide you need to be used in a normal and conversational way throughout the articles. The keyword needs to be in the article title, first sentence and used another 10-12 times throughout each article.

The articles must be at least 85% unique, they will be reviewed thoroughly with Copyscape and Dupecop for plagiarism. If an article you submit to me does not pass Copyscape or has spelling and punctuation mistakes, you will not be paid for that article until it is corrected and resubmitted to me for approval.

The articles need to be informative to the reader with 100% correct grammar and punctuation. They ABSOLUTELY MUST read like they are written by a Native English speaker...this is very important.

You agree that upon sending me the rewrites all rights to the rewritten articles transfer to me. This means you will not sell, reproduce or re-use these articles in any manner.

Please be able to communicate 1-2 times per day via email,
Bids will only be considered with a sample paragraph on a topic that I choose.

I pay $1.00 to begin with per 400-500 word article and promise to increase it with proven reliability and good writing skills. I am looking for 3 GOOD writers who are looking for long term work.

I pay via Paypal within 24 hours of completion of each 50 article project, All articles must be written by a NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKING writer. Please don't bid if you aren't able to meet these requirements.

I am very fair to my writers, but expect QUALITY work from them as well.
Examples of work will be needed.

For someone who has no history on DP and amazingly ridiculous pay rates, you sure demand a lot. I wonder how many layers of sub-leasing this is going through.

    Brand new ID eh?

Id rather you kept things on topic.
Perhaps I just cant afford to pay any more for the content?

Im not forcing anyone to offer their services, if you think I ask too much thats your opinion.
Some people will be happy to do rewrites for that price knowing they have a constant stream of work, increments in pay once they prove they can write and regular payments every week.

Would you honestly expect someone to work several hours doing work for you at $10 a day? You are delusional...

If you're not interested thats your perogative.

God, what is this? Am I on trial or something?
If you're not interested or if you think this is too cheap then please don't write.

Many thanks to the people who have been in touch.

And just for the record ArticleScholar,
"NOT ANYBODY CAN WRITE, HIRE SOMEONE WHO CAN" isn't grammatically correct.

I do not understand why people are so against the price. A re-write takes no time at all
I know people who do 10 rewrites an hour. Thats $10/hour.
If it takes you two hours to do a rewrite then yes, this probably isnt the job for you :p

10 rewrites in an hour is extremely hard work, plain and simple. Is it possible? Absolutely. However, it will wear a writer down within a matter of days, if not a matter of hours. It seems like you are offering a full time job, that will take full time work, without the full time pay.
Personally, I dont care, either way you are more than welcome to set your own prices, and best of luck. However, if you really are hoping to get articles that are perfect, with no mistakes, excellent punctuation and be informative, while paying 1$, you are dreaming.

I'll throw in my opinion if you don't mind.

You are claiming you know people who are capable of doing 10 rewrites per hour.

Let's assume those are 400 word rewrites. That's 4, 000 typed words per hour. In order to do this the person must type 66.67 words per minute without taking a break.

You went into great detail about the quality of the content you want. In order to actually deliver the content based on your standards the person would have to read the content before/while rewriting it. This will affect the time it takes to complete each rewrite.

Some people are fast readers but it's the processing which usually takes more time and figuring out how to word the rewrite. Let's assume 1/6th of every hour is spent not typing. This brings each hour down to only 50 minutes of typing.

For 4, 000 words of content in an hour (50 mins typing) the person must type 80 words per minute. Now we should look at how fast the writer types. Personally, I can type over 100 words per minute without creating any errors. I know I'm far above the average typing speed but so are most content writers.

I would assume most people can type 70-90 words per minute. I will not categorize certain writers but those who only produce low quality content (generally what you get for the quoted price) will have many mistakes in their typing. These workers usually make more mistakes than most. If you expect them to correct those mistakes this will add to the time spent on the work.

It would be impossible for anyone (that is willing to accept such a low payment) to complete 10 rewrites per hour that will meet your standards.

To skip on to a completely different reasoning let's just look at the actual labor. For instance, let's look at those who run poker affiliate websites since there is a major profit to be made from running such a site. If the site owner can easily get 10, 000 people to sign up on certain poker rooms every month and deposit they are guaranteed to make a lot of money. However, just because they are capable of returning more than the average poker affiliate website does that necessarily mean they should be paid less? NO!

The same goes for offering a service. We (as writers) are not selling a product where it may be beneficial to offer wholesale discounts but rather we are getting paid for our time and effort.

You expect us to WORK HARDER in the same time frame for LESS MONEY and still produce high quality content. You will get interest from loads of candidates who can mutter up some vary god continent four ure websight but don't you feel even slightly guilty for paying such a low amount?

In other words let's just close it with this - Put yourself in our shoes and decide whether you would accept $6-10/hr for slave labor.

Anyways, I'll get back to my actual work since I'm wasting money trying to get someone to realize how they're: 1) potentially damaging an already hurt market, 2) wasting money on non-profitable content, and, 3) acting like a cheap *****

    Have a good day, SunHunter.

PS. One last note; do you offer health care to your workers? Carpal Tunnel Syndrome has been taunting me for a few months now and the surgery for CTS isn't pretty. That would put a writer out of action for months on end. Maybe you can pay for sick leave while your worker is away on a work related injury?

Damn that was a reply and a half and yes I completely see where your coming from, but there's a few flaws to your argument.

1)No matter how hard someone works calling $6-$10 hour "slave labour" is ridiciulous.

2)I'm asking someone to write 10 articles per day, lets say from your in-depth analysis that the average content writer takes 90 minutes to do this, given all the thinking time and what not, thats an hour and a half typing of constant typing. Do you really think 7 1/2 hours of work a week is excessive? "slave labour"?

3)You mention "It would be impossible for anyone (that is willing to accept such a low payment) to complete 10 rewrites per hour that will meet your standard". I can honestly say its not.

4)You mention you are getting paid for your "time and effort". I'd disagree. The amount anyone is paid for ANY job is all dependant on how qualified they are. The more highly qualified, the less people who are available to do the job. Supply and demand. Not everyone can write well, thats why people are willing to pay for it. Anyone can rewrite an article.

Do I feel bad? No because $6-$10/hour is perfectly reasonable for a job that requires little skill. I'm not holding a gun to anyones head.
If you feel your services, effort and writing ability is worth more than that and you can ponder as you carefully craft every article you do that is your perogative.

Alas I need a lot of reasonable quality content as quickly as possible and there are people who are perfectly happy to do that.

In all the time the OP has take to read, understand and respond to the comments here, he could have written 50 articles himself.

I concur that $1 per article is rediculous money when you consider the workload, and for anyone to create a "minimum of 50 articles per week" in PERFECT condition, well lets just say they are nuts to do it for that money.

The OP also says that $6-$10 per hour for "unskilled" work is good money, but I would like to state that to complete 50 PERFECT articles takes a skill that not too many people possess. In fact it takes more than one skill.

Personally I would not get out of bed for $10 an hour, and here it would be illegal to pay that amount of money to any employee.

Therein lies another issue, as an emplyee you have no costs involved. Here the author would need to use internet, email, bandwidth, etc etc and these costs would be bourne by them, making them a business or service provider. So the $10 an hour, (in lala land) is gross and if they pay taxes on the money, including costs, they may be lucky to come out with $7 an hour.

    Just my 2 cents :)

Good thread tough OP, New people will learn a lot. I wonder why, if you already know people that will work for these rates, why not use them?

I absolutely agree. We are not minimum-wage factory workers my friend, we want dollars, not bread crumbs. :D Wearing out my 20/20 eye-sight, getting head-aches from re-writing 10 articles of 400-500 words each everyday (which is already crazy to begin with, not to mention the $1 wage), and losing sleep over pennies is not exactly very attractive to me right now.

But, all the best of luck to your search. :)
(Sorry for being completely unhelpful, just found this thread a bit funny and wanted to join in the fun. :p)

$1.50...you are most generous.. I am blown away by your offer. I would like to offer my services for 65 hours per work. All you have to pay me is $5 dollars per week because I am inspired by your generosity.

In all serious, you have done a great service to this forum via this thread. There is alot to learn from what has been quoted on this thread and it has given a number of promising and respectable young writers a venue to vent their frustration over what his industry has become. Ever wonder why it has now become so hard to find any valuable and truthful infromation via Google these days?? This thread is proof. The staggering number of people working for cents per hour have filled the internet to the brink with lies, scams and uninformed information that makes it impossible to use the internet for what it was initially created for.

Well I do pride myself on my generosity :p

I am offering dollars, not bread crumbs! I can pay you in breadcrumbs if youd rather.
Obviously i'm not expecting absolute perfection but if I posted here that I was willing to accept any old trash (Im not! I just expect legible English), can you imagine the junk that would turn up?

Im sure some of you are fantastic writers and if i was looking for 1000 word works of genius then i'd pay a decent price, but when I know for a FACT that people can do 10 rewrites an hour are you seriously suggesting I pay you more to do them anyway?

I get the impression there are a lot of pissed off US content writers on here lol. I can understand, getting majorly undercut by people offering a ridiculously cheap service (I've had people offer to rewrite for $0.10/400 words, no they werent good) must be annoying but you've just got to sell yourself.

Nobody has quite convinced me their writing is worth the extra money yet lol.

Cant help but smile when you say 7 1/2 hours work a week is enough to wear you writer's out. Your poor ickle wrists :p
