Could someone please explain me what is LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing)? I have Googled it only to find all Latin and Hebrew. Please explain it in simpler language. Also how I can use it for better SEO? Any reply will be much appreciated.
ummm you don't know how to search google then..... http://www.google.com/search?q=Late...s=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a Its also know as LSA http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latent_semantic_analysis Hope it helps
Thanks Sem-Advance, for your reply. I have seen the wiki page. But the things written there went well over my head I wanted some simplified version.
It basically means using synonyms and related terms rather than being repetitive with the same keyword. SEOBook has a good post that may explain LSI better.
I hate to burst your bubble but they have for almost two years. Matt Cutts spoke about it in 2007 at the SMX conference. http://www.marketingpilgrim.com/200...sses-themes-and-latent-semantic-indexing.html Andy has a video up here from the conference.
There are several articles on Associated Content that explain LSI in simple terms. Yuwanda Black has an excellent article about it here. I know Google is using it -- a lot -- but I don't think Yahoo or Ask.com are putting an emphasis on it.
