Lowercase and uppercase keywords in SEO I often ask myself Google distinguishes lowercase and uppercase? So I have decided to test some cases on Google. Let's go! Ex 1: “online marketing†vs “ONLINE MARKETING†Online marketing: ONLINE MARKETING Note that search results are same. Does Google see lowercase and uppercase are one ? Ok, let’s go Ex2. Ex 2: “seo†vs “SEO†seo: SEO: Now, we can compare : Not same as Ex 1. There is a difference about search results. What’s next question? Does Google see lowercase and uppercase are not one? Return Ex 1. Uppercase : ONLINE MARKETING => Google replied lowercase. And Ex 2 ? Lowercase: seo => Google replied uppercase. I also observed that lowercase and uppercase ranks were not change. Now, we can see : - Google knows lowercase and uppercase queries are different (number of search results are different). - Google knows lowercase and uppercase keywords are same(search lowercase => uppercase results in Ex2, search uppercase => lowercase results in Ex1) - Rank not much change between lowercase and uppercase keywords. Humm, What should I use lowercase or uppercase when doing SEO ? Difficult to say which selection is optimization. But you should do it naturally. Don’t force to use one of them only. Right spelling and grammar will help you find more visitors for your website. Thanks. (Online-marketing-web.com) Because forum allows 4 pictures each post. So I can't show all. its better to use the natural one.. and by the way about the seo as lower case.. seo is a acronym so its understood to use all upper case and the other one which ONLINE MARKETING as upper case.. its not the usual format of text its usually on lower case.. so just like what i said its better to use normal text as what its supposed to be..
Hey when i search SEO and seo i got same results, No of results are same and sites are same. I dont think their is any changes in lower case and upper case keywords
Even I see your example but I do not think there is a different between lowercase and uppercase keywords. But if I have to choose one I would go with lowercase over uppercase. A simple reason - most peoples do search for lowercase more than uppercase in most cases.
Personally, I think Google has fixed a glitch that they used to have concerning lower and upper case. Maybe five months ago I did some experimenting with some of my keywords, changing just the FIRST letter from Caps to lower case, and vice versa. There were definitely different ranking results. Today I repeated the same experiment, again changing just the first letter from lower to upper case, and vice versa. Unlike a few months ago, today the rankings came back exactly the same. I suspect Google has made an algorithm adjustment concerning lower and upper case. That's just my personal opinion, based on a small-scale experiment.
Google ignores but the searcher never ignores.Capital letter looks different from others and hence results in higher click ratio.
Hello all, I stumbled upon something this morning - when I typed 'MUSIC ON HOLD' into google, and returned the home page, whereas when i typed in 'music on hold' the blog part of the website was returned. Both were in a similar position (page 1, rank 6 or 7). This is the first time i've seen results changed when typing in uppercase or lowercase. Does anyone know why this is the case? Cheers, Tom (ph_audio).
