Lower "Tier" Pages in Google Index

I've been building a lot of new pages lately and it seems like some pages get spidered but the content doesn't get indexed.

For example when typing site:http://www.guitar-resource-center.com you have this for one of the pages:

    Carvin Valvemaster Review
Carvin Valvemaster Review. Type of Gear: Guitar Amplifiers. Brand Name: Carvin.
Model: Valvemaster. Price: $320 used. Review - Please ...
    www.guitar-resource-center.com/carvin_valvemaster.html - 14k - Cached - Similar pages

Then for another page you have this:

    www.guitar-resource-center.com/digitech_rp7.html
    Similar pages

So basically both pages that have been indexed but the Carvin Review page has the actual content show up in the index, and it shows up in the search results for "carvin valvemaster", but the digitech rp7 page doesn't show up in the search results anymore (although it used to).

I think one of the reasons might be because a lot of content on the first part of these pages is similar due to some code I have for a newsletter sign-up form that appears on every page.

I was just curious as to whether anyone else could better explain why this happens or could offer some insight.

did you wait a week or so? sometimes for intern pages, it takes some time before the content really get indexed well enough. I usually try to have each new intern page, at least crosslinked externally once.

A few months ago I put some second tier pages into one of my sites, it took a few weeks before they were fully indexed. All of the pages appear on a site map so I think it's just wait a week or two.
    Cheers

Try to make the description and the keywords different for these pages. I faced the same issue and after I changed the description and keywords of those pages... they were displayed normally in Google.

It looks like every page I put my mailing list form on is having the same problem. Google is spidering that text first, and now it's returning all those pages as similar pages. The ones that I don't have the code on are being indexed normally and showing up in the search results.

    Thanks for the feedback everyone.

Do a search for Google Sandbox. That is probably what is happening.
