I am having an issue with my PPC keyword selections, i try to do very detailed keyword research so that inevitably I will have highly tailored keyword for my client, therefore hopefully lowering bounce rate, increasing conversions and also increasing the quality score of my ads, but I keep coming up with the issue of low search volume on these ad's. Has anyone else experienced this and know whether these ads do or do not show and have any ideas about how to overcome this problem?
Yes, it's a very common problem. Moreover, such markets/niches are so specialized that you mostly have to deal with low search volume keywords, which are prone to this problem. There is, unfortunately, not much you can do about it. But use more broad match keywords so that you can capture a greater variety of searches.
1.The Google keyword tends to be unstable at lower volumes. So its worth a punt at terms that don't look too popular. 2. If you buy low volume terms just make sure you buy enough of them.
I would suggest doing more keyword research and then tackling a larger group of long tail keywords (if possible). You can't affect a keyword's search volume, so target more keywords overall because the culmination of traffic from a very large set of long tail keywords will be more than focusing on a select few. You also have to consider ad positioning and your target cost per conversion. If you need more traffic, you will need to pay a higher price for higher placement which may or may not result in your targeted profit. As PhilipSEO suggested, you can also try broader terms but keep in mind that you have to constantly test factors to achieve whatever cost per conversion number you have in mind. If all else fails, start using another ppc model e.g. Yahoo, 7search etc.
i sure that you selected a wrong keyword which people can't search daily bases .Always selected a single keyword for adwords.
As you needle down tailored keywords, the search volume would be less. Advantage is it would directly mean less CPC. Con is lower clicks. But if your product is good, the bounce rate would be less as the users are searching for very very specific
You definitely describe one of the shortcomings of utilizing long tail keyword phrases, NikkiSEO. Often the volume for those terms is significantly lower than the more general keywords, and although they may convert at a higher percentage the total conversions cannot compare. You do have the luxury, however, of being able to access data from many free keyword tools. Google and Wordstream both offer excellent tools. 7search also has a keyword tool located at conversion.7search.com which you should take a look at. You may actually find keyword combinations not previously considered which could make a difference to your bottom line. If you do decide to test more general keyword phrases, be sure to take advantage of the different traffic match options your platform supports as well as negative keywords. Wordstream offers a free negative keyword tool which is worth looking into as well. Best of luck!
