As you know, AdSense earnings tempt webmasters to sacrifice website navigation and put AdSense ads instead to make them look as if they are a part of navigation of a website. For a person who looks up information in the internet and wants to browse the website deeper, it gets very frustrating to discern what is real navigation and what is AdSense ads which are deceptively put into place. This frustration slows users down and they get a negative experience by visiting such AdSense saturated websites. What do you think? Do you agree? Please share your opinions!
Yes, I really hate those MFA sites for which the sole aim is to earn money through Adsense. And that's why Google should enforce them more strictly.
low quality sites like that, specially MFA sites dont count on repeat visitors as there will be none.
I think this could be a big reason why click-throughs on Google ads are suddenly dropping. Just a thought.
In my opinion it's too easy to advertise a site in AdWords. The quality is really low and people are tired of clicking Google ads because they will get nothing but bull*hit. Google should be way more strict about their advertisers. But since they pay... anything is good.
MFA's, SPLOG's, and Scraper sites are f(Duck-D)ing up adsense revenues for all of us! There are soooo many "fake" sites that lure people into clicking to find information, that PPC is horrible. JMO
c'mon, who creates, updates and spend hours everyday on the website just for good. almost everyone works on website to make money. why does this bother google? its not only google who wants to make money after all/.
Content is King and, for the sake of searchers and credibility of the Internet as a useful informational resource, I wish Google would have some stricter requirements for content. Unfortunately, it seems Google approves any lousy site people put up. The cost of the ads goes down because people accidentally click on them from junk sites. Advertisers know these ads aren't worth a great deal of money. I say you put up a high quality site or you cannot advertise. Too bad Google doesn't agree with this.
Of course we want to make money, but do we have to take the low road to do it? Is it better and more profitable to create a great site that is informative and entertaining and satisfies the needs of it's readers, or to create a crap site, so that readers click the ads in an attempt to find what they are really looking for? Of course the crap site is easier to create, but I guess it depends on the character and the mission of the person. Some people don't really want to have a quality product, they just want to make money, and will do what ever it takes, as long as it's quick and easy, (or so they think). In every industry there are those who find a way to exploit it for money , instead of actually having some love and respect for what they do, and self respect.
^ I agree. Also most people who create MFA sites aren't thinking long term, they just want the quick buck. If they get banned they'll try creating a new account or apply for with another advertiser. Not very effective when you think of a long term business. Tricking users into clicking on ads isn't the most profitable way to make money from adsense, may annoy your visitors and may get you banned.
In my view it isn't a good idea to give Adsense ads precedence over the navigation system. In fact it isn't a good idea to give anything - other ads, images, or even content, precedence over the navigation system. Firstly, it affects the useability of the site if visitors have to steer past ads. etc. to reach the navigation system. Secondly, it's generally accepted that ads. produce better results when they have content, not a navigation system, wrapped around them.
Its very sneaky and usually its done poorly so that it mostly just looks messy, but ive seen sites where its blended into the navigation where its barely possible to see the adsense and the real navigation.
This is actually a great point to make. In my opinion, returning users bring much more revenue than just one time user (i.e. one click). MFA sites should think about the way to make their websites user friendly first, after that, to think about the AdSense.
