Low paying niche - how to improve earnings somehow?

Hello, I own a anime streaming website (link in my signature). As you may know it's really bad paying niche so I would like to ask you how can I improve my earnings?

I would like to speak more generally, not just about anime streaming websites, what should one do to increase his earnings within low-paying niche? For example arcade/gaming/entertaiment...

I know that ad placement is really important, however I tweaked it to the max, I can't improve it in this way anymore.

What do you suggest about keywords in content? I wonder if some articles about anime-related stuff with high-paying keyword would help? But then I ask myself a question, would the visitors read this article and click on ads around it or they would watch anime as normally? Or would that article(s) help the site eCPM overall?

    Thanks for you suggestions, Smaug

Well, if its a low paying niche, theres not really much you can do.

Most low paying niches have really good traffic and CTR though, so if you boost up your traffic you can multiply your earnings by that amount too.

Also, you can try adsenseblacklist. It'll block low paying ads and MFAs

In order to make more money, then I would suggest you to gain in more traffic but you may already receive a lot of traffic so that may not be an option that you would want to improve in. The second suggestion would be to sell ad space privately to advertisers or try using more than one ad network. I'm pretty sure you increase your revenue by doing this. Here's a URL with some recommendations to which ad networks you can use. :)

Traffic is the ultimate solution in this case..
filtering out low paying ads may resulted in showing PSA's on your site.

Try changing up your keywords, use low paying words less.

    Thanks for replies.

Traffic: I know traffic is ultimate, I have it in mind and I am constantly improving it (currently it's 2-5% increase per day)

Other Ad networks: CyberBoy08 - thanks for the list, I thought of BidVertiser before, it's nice they are paying via PayPal. I might give it a shot...

Selling ad space privately: This can be considered once I gain good PageRank, otherwise not much people would be interested in it.

Changing up keywords: I thought about this also but I don't know how should I do that... once my site is going it's way I can't just change everything to "anime dvds" etc... I have to think of some way how to implement this...

Find a common keyword between your ads and your text. Remove it and see what the ads then change to, you can directly influence what type of ads you show.

one thing you can try is limiting the amount of ads that are shown on your pages, fewer ads shown, usually means higher cpc

Should use the alternate URL option when getting your Google code and have it use Chitika, CJ or something vs PSA's

Try and find some related affiliate program and monetize your traffic that way. The would be the best solution IMHO.

I also have some sites which didn't earned so much with Adsense, LE and many other affiliate networks.
Than I changed to Affiliateer and made good results.
You also have to concentrate on special products, write reviews about them and link from forums and blogs to the review pages.

I'd recommend to increase traffic and PR of your blog with the new free tool BlogRush.

unitec: thank you! you have inspired me, I will write something about anime dvds and since I am amazon affiliate I can put there a link to buy them - what a great way to monetize this traffic... I dont think many people would buy them though, only the biggest otaku (anime fans) maybe, since I am offering the episodes for free...
or I could write something about cosplay (playing anime characters in real life) - and use AuctionAds for it, since there is a huge number of cosplay items on ebay...

I added BlogRush yesterday already, anyways thanks for the tip
