Low earnings killing my .coms

As most of you know most .com domains cost about 10/year.

I have a couple .com sites that I run. With the low payouts from google now (.01-.10$ per click) I am forced to shut down the sites that aren't producing.

The only site I am keeping is one forum I have because it is the only site that I am breaking even on. The niche has yet to go to full potential (forum for upcoming MMORPG that is about 2 years away). Also I spend little to no time on the site since the forum members create all the content. I just go in there one a week and delete reported spam.

I am sticking 100% to my .blogspot.com blogs now. Easy to maintain, no hosting cost, no domain costs and 100% pure profit nothing to lose.

Anyone else getting forced to do the same?

yes surely, even I sometimes block .blogspot.. Why don't you make blogs in your .com which aren't producing... If you do in planned way then surely you will get to the target

You could always look at getting your own broad domain (like blogspot) and then creating sub domains for separate sites.

    Agree :)

The drawback is people don't trust .blogspot as .com :)

I recommend you buy and stick with one generic domain name, then create folders for each of your different wordpress blogs.

This will help your SEO aswell.

    Folders > Sub domains

Yeah CTR is too low these days for me as well, but closing those sites wont make sense.

It is just what kind of sites you have. I had several 4-5 pages .coms which turn in more than $10 yearly definitely!

I’ve ran a Video Gaming fan fiction site that only produced about $100 a year with Adsense, and that was even being listed in Dmoz. The problem is with the genre. It seems to me anyhow that gaming sites are a minimal revenue generating niche.
