Low CTR on my website - help appreciated

    Hello.

I own a Polish website about PC games' modifications and indie games. It's quite popular here, I've got many non-regular visitors on it. Everyday I've got ~2000 unique users and ~21000 non-unique page views. Website's link: http://modbase.pl (Polish)

So, here's my problem with this: the CTR is low and I need help with improving the ads. Everyday I have got ~0,41% CTR. Most clicks come from the download section (http://modbase.pl/index.php?option=com_jdownloads&view=viewcategories&Itemid=94). What should I do to improve the CTR level? Maybe the colors, or ads type (graphical / text) are wrong?

I'm sorry for any mistakes, but I don't live in the USA and I don't use this language really often...

Hello, the problem is do you have enough polish advertizers competing in your niche?

A lack of advertizer competition and so of ads relevance can be one reason for a low CTR.

    Yes, it's true.

I've got "normal" ads on my main site (games' ads, etc), but on my subpages ads are bad adjusted (cars' ads, forex and some other strange ads). Is it the main reason of my low CTR? How can I fix this?

The ads are all on the side. People look for the content, so that's where you should place your ads.
