Low CTR. Are these numbers unusual?

Hey folks. I am sort of new to adsense. Learning by the hour!

On one of my sites, i average about 250 impressions / 2-3 clicks per day. (it's a new site, probably 2 months old)...Roughly a 1% CTR.

What can I do to increase my CTR?
On my main pages with the bulk content, I have 1 leaderboard on every page. But my design sort of prevents me from adding more. If anything, I think I'd be able to add a 468x60 somewhere.

So what do you think I should do to increase my CTR?

    THANKS in advance!

CTR doesn't depend solely on ad placement, but your niche also: if your blog is related to technology or internet or anything else that gives you visitors who are used with surfing the internet, your CTR will be low (I used to have a gaming site with good ad placement and about 2,000 visitors per day, but a CTR below 1%).

However, if it's not your audience's fault, you could try adding that 468x60 banner or a links banner. Either way, even with a 1% CTR, if you increased your daily visitors you'd earn much more :) Good luck!

it also depends on where your traffic is coming from. digg or stumbleupon type traffic will take a quick look at your post and then move on without clicking but search engine traffic is way more likely to click an ad.

Hi, I can't help you unless I can see the ad placement.
But 1% is not good except if you're running a forum.
5% should be the minimum to aim for before being OK with it.

I am getting 1.5% for my blog, so when you compare with me it's common.

I think 2-3% is more common, although as some have suggested it may be dependent on the niche. The best thing to do is experiment with different ad placements and see if there is any change. I've found this works well for me. :)

do more experiment with ads display and placement will help you. CTR has very close relationship with display and placement.

    Wish you luck

That CTR is dismal. I suggest using two large rectangles and a link box.
