Low CPU Usage Gallery Script ?!

    Hello,

I'm using gallery2 Menalto on my website at the moment: http://www.hannahmontanazone.com/gallery and it's actually loading very slow and causing a lot of server problems so therefore I would like to switch because it seems like it's using a low of resources.

I've come across the Coopermine photo gallery and would like some feedback on it! Is it a better alternative to gallery2 in terms of CPU Usage, etc.? Would it load faster? I already have a basic dedicated server with Hostgator so I need something that wouldn't exceed that.

Looking forward to some feedback on this Coopermine photo gallery :)

    Edit: Or Photopost?

    Thanks

From what I hear coppermine is pretty good. You could easily run into CPU over-use issues with any gallery though.
Depending on what setting you are using, usually involving auto thumbnail creation/ resizing/ or that type of thing is very CPU heavy.

I would recommend spending some time on the Coppermine FAQ and Forum to see what settings you can change for the best performance without the end user noticing anything.

Right, thanks. I took a look at that filebrowser but it doesn't seem very customizable.

I've also found this Photopost gallery which is compatible with vBulletin forums and seeing that I have one on the site it's something else to look at.
