I had been using just a 300x250 and a skyscraper on my site with about 2% CTR (low) but $1 or so CPC (high). No clicks on the 300x250, all on the sky. Redesigned with no 300x250, just Adsense Links under the title box, a half-banner mid-way thru the page, and the skyscraper. Now NO clicks on the skyscraper, but fabulous (10%) CTR on the Links! Trouble is, $0.10 CPC on the Links. One-tenth of what I was getting on skyscraper clicks. What gives? Are clicks on the Google Adsense Links less valuable than clicks on a skyscraper or banner?
That doesn't make sense, though - it's the EXACT SAME SITE, with the exact same traffic sources. One week apart. The only difference is the site layout and the addition of the Adsense link units. Are you sure link units don't just pay less? After all, you click on one and then get taken to a whole page of ads. Presumably each of those has to pay less to be on that page, versus among four or five in a standard ad unit.
I dont think so it has less value,For me actually link units are working very fine i am getting good CTR as well as CPC.. Which niche you are in?
