Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions for very low cost web hosting companies. I have a number of sites I need to get online and would prefer if they were hosted on different IP ranges. The more suggestions the better. Cheers guys... SEbasic
One thing I would be wary of would be basing your decision solely on price. Better to pay a little more for a good hosting company. - Shawn
Precisely as shaws said - there are a range of compare sites out there. Make sure you know what you want shared (ratio), semi, dedicated, shared IP own IP, location US, Europe, Asia .... tools like cpanel mail subdomains mysql bandwidth tripple feed into DC's etc. UNIX Windows SUN... so much choice... That decides you choice. M PS reverse lookup / tracert gives you a good idea who hosts where.....
Sorry, I should have been more detailed. Very little actual space is needed, (5 megs will do) no serverside includes, shared/own IP (either way is no big issue). Bandwidth... 500megs/1GB/month. Really something simple. No frills... Windows, Unix, whatever.... As lost as it's SE friendly, I dont mind. FTP a must. At least 1 mail account. online or pop3 - no big deal either way... Cheers for the quick responses guys
I use xwebhost.com wierd multi domain plan(5 domains for 7.95/month, and godaddy.com (around 5 per month one domain)
I think SEbasic has a lot of content and set up a mini site type network, but has Google paranoia about hosting all your sites from the same IP. I do the same thing.... I have Google paranoia too
I recommend http://www.handsonwebhosting.com/ because they've been so good to us. We have a special resellers account with them and that hosts our 6 or so domains. I believe they are all on one IP address though, so you will have to ask about that. Other than that they are great. Good customer service, great CPanel with AWStats, Urchin, Webalizer, and others all free/with your account, MySQL, PHP, UNIX servers. check them out at least.
Read the links in my sig. We have two IP blocks on our server. We are located in Canada and so have a price advantage over US hosting companies. PM me about your exact requirements. We can probably work out a deal.
People were squeeling link a stuck pig last year regarding Godaddy. Check out SEOchat for particlars. I had all my accounts running on same host, different IP's but all were on came C class. Host quit providing the reliable service they once gave so I started moving accounts. As I moved accounts page rank on moved accounts went up and back links on moved accouts that had disappeared from Google started reappearing. It could all be circumstancial evidence but it makes me want to spread hosting around. To me this is sad for if you have a reliable responsive host it is so much easier to continue to deal with them exclusively. Shannon
Thank's for all the helpful suggestions guys. Sorry Shawn, I didn't mean to turn the tread into an advertising column. Hope your not too mad... (should have thought about this a little better before I posted). Anyway, like I say, I really appreciate all your help!
we use www.ev1servers.net great stuff, but expensive. we pay 100$ a month for 1TB of transfer and 60 gigs of hd space.
$100 for 1TB of transfer doesn't seem terribly expensive to me. What sort of bandwidth throughput are you able to get?
it's not throttled, it's on a 10mbps server as far as I know. I know it's not expensive for what you get, but considering that we need only roughly a quarter of that, it's kind of a lot of money.
How about free? www.staghosting.com 200 mb space and 2gig bandwidth. All the usual php and mysql etcetc
