I have noticed a big drop in the last month, but seem to be doing better all of a sudden..has anyone contacted Yahoo about this?
I am not contacting yahoo about this because they will probably terminate me for low conversions or many of the other stupid reasons they termiante!
guys, I hate to burst your bubble but with the market for cpc ads just getting bigger and bigger, the prices will simply lower and lower, as advertisers have more and more choices. It is simple economics.
the low price isnt because of the yahoo its because of the advertisers with yahoo choose how much they want to pay per click
Think about it from the viewpoint of the advertiser. Suppose YPN is sharing 50% of the click with you, your $5 click means that the advertiser is shelling out $10 for each click. Since there are so many savvy publishers like you who are seeking out the highest paying ads, over time the ads are getting more and more clicks. One day the advertiser realizes how much he's spending and decides to reduce his bid or cancel the ad campaign altogether. That could be the reason your EPC's are dropping. No black magic here. Just economics.
Makes sense to me. Some days I get 300 clicks for 500$ others I get 500 clicks for 300$. It all depends on what the advertiser is paying
What kind of CPC I can get for travel-related ads? Just a question. To be getting less than $0.10 per click from Adsense is way below the belt for me.
guys i dunno what da heck are you talking about but... $.40 like somebody said here is A LOT i havent made the calculus but i am earing less than $10 per click.
I have seen my YPN earning sink this month. I got accepted early, but did not get around to putting it on my sites til Oct. Every month since, I have been impressed, but June has been 90% down. I ALWAYS suffered low clicks on the pages where I use YPN, due to odd targeting. That did not used to matter, since PPC was hot. Now, it is not better than AS, but the CTR is still horrific. If I am looking at similar CPC, I will more than likely move the whole show back to Adsense, since their targeting is amazing.
I think many advertisers become more educated and understand that there are two options to choose: search and content. So after they see fraud clicks on website network they turn off that feature. So checking overture bid tool and see $20 per click doesn’t mean it will go to your pocket. It will stick with yahoo... or google.. or whatever... For example i turned of all my content PPC after one month trying it... too much fraud… One of my friends found out that findology.com sends to him 99.99% fraudulent clicks! I was shocked. So I realized one thing: I would prefer to be #10 with PPC on google or yahoo, than #1 on any other PPC network! For all PPC advertisers: check your stats! To publishers: be honest and advertisers will not turn away from…
I agree with you! I am using google adwords, and found out the the "content" network was bringing in a TON of fake clicks. Thats why I stopped advertising with their content network and now I am only on their search engine! But still, I think that Yahoo is taking 70% of the income, and passing 30% to us (Which means less money)
I'm dissapointed with YPN. Them seem to sneak a lower and lower payout in each month. You have to work harder to get more clicks or your income may dramatically drop to rock bottom. Adsense is paying a consistently low PPC as well but the click through rate is a ton better than YPN due to the ads actuallly match the content.
