Low click through rate

I'm having low click through rate on my website actuarial nospace ninja.com

Can someone recommend placement and other things to help improve?

 

Remove ad after the title and 336 x 280 too. Try to use 580 x 400 ad format in the end of articles. It's very effective for text articles in my experience.

 

Sometimes it is not even about right placement of ads...
This looks like it maybe a niche for a select few that may have interest,
and therefore, I do not see high conversions, as this site looks more
like an info related site, not for visitors that have buyer intent...

If this niche is your thing, then cool, but some niches will not be
be popular enough to make money; no matter how much you like your hobby.

If you are doing this for $$$, then you should consider doing some research,
and setup niche sites that are considered profitable, and in my personal opinion,
this is not one of those niches, as you need a good amount of traffic to convert....

 

2dscurlock: Yes, there're more profitable niches, but anyway there's opportunity to increase CTR for this website.

 

You might want to try some "text only" ads as well and place them tight within the content.

Right now all of your ads show up as large images for me and my eyes tend to skip over them automatically.
