Hi everyone, Ok, so i'm 19 years old and completely new to marketing. This is a massive learning curve for me right now but i've been spending hours reading up on the basics and some more advanced stuff. Being a student i don't have the money to invest in big projects, but i certainly have the time I want to know what's cheap to invest in and will provide the highest return in the form of quality traffic. I've invested in getting the site put into a load of directories and am doing little bits here and there on the social networking sites. I am also thinking about investing in getting keywords to put the site on the front page of google (is this a good move?). Forums are hard grow to the point where they will grow passively especially with the competition i'm facing with the niche i have chosen. Any help is very much appreciated, Thanks, Nick.
Nick, Good to see some other younger people. I'm 16 and I'm currently growing a website portfolio. If your willing to go the Google Adwords route you can get a lot of good traffic however Adwords proves to be quite costly. I would go with a smaller Ad Network that will bring in cheaper traffic. Adbrite is a good network if your ads are going to convert. Some people go 100,000 impressions without a click, while some go 10. Also Adbride has cheap clicks. AdToll is another option that will bring in cheap traffic.
If you're a student you're probably good at writing. If so article writing is one of the best and cheapest ways to advertise that there is. If you have imagination and quick writing skills you can make a fortune with articles. donrock
Thanks a lot for your advice. I have pretty average writing skills, i have submitted a few of them to sites such as qassia.com but where is the most productive place to submitt these articles?
Network with other bloggers, become friends with them, and review eachothers blogs and mention eachother, etc. It's a good way to learn and network.
