Hi all, I've put together an association site called Amazonly which basically lists items from Amazon only and excludes those items that are only available from market place sellers. The idea has come from the fact that I have come across many people who have become annoyed when they search amazon, wanting to actually buy from Amazon themselves and not a third party seller (due to bad experiences, untrustworthyness etc). The search for an item on Amazon, and are excited when they see it is in stock, but disappointed when they realise it's only available in the marketplace. In other words, what you see on this website, is only what is available on Amazon. I used ECS web service to build it. www.amazonly.co.uk To see it working, go to www.amazonly.co.uk and do a search for "N95 8gb" - notice it doesn't return any results. Now go to amazon.co.uk and do the same search - notice it finds it but it's not actually available from Amazon direct! Another benefit of this is that you always no what your postage is going to be even before you checkout - it removes the uncertainty with postage costs that you experience with Amazon marketplace. In other words, if you have over 15 pounds in your cart you benefit from the free delivery option! Any comments, or criticisms welcome. P.S. I have written to Amazon asking permission to use their logo as part of mine and am awaiting a response. Thanks
Yah, expect to get a letter from Amazon shortly demanding that you transfer your domain name to them or get terminated as an affiliate. They don't allow any affiliate to use the word "amazon" in a domain name.
hiya, thanks for the feedback - amazon weren't impressed with the domain like you said but t'was an honest mistake... i put the site on a domain that i had sitting with no website new name = ubongle.com www.ubongle.com im glad u like the concept. it came from a discussion at work when people were fed up of the marketplace and just wanted to use amazon!
I got caught with that mistake myself about a year or two ago, I had registered the domain amazonwebshop dot com, lol. I don't know if I had the dns resolved before I got a letter from their lawyer. It was easily resolved with me transferring the domain to them. And I thought I was protective of my brand, lol. thanks, PuReWebDev
I don't know, how Amazonly looked like, but there is another page with a similar idea: http://www.nomarketplace.com/uk/
