Some things thare are obvious, some that lots of people don't do or know about! Share! Obvious ones first: -EXERCISE, exercise for a couple hours a week, even if its just walking, or its a sport/hitting up the gym -A good diet, cut out sodas, desserts and candy, fast food, tv dinners and general prepared food, exessive liqour and see weight drop off, sleep improve, and feel tons better -drink lots of water. most of us are dehydrated. Hunger is one of the earlier signs of thurst, actually feeling thursty means are are already dehydrated (if you are dehydrated you are much more likely to retain fat and be unable to build muscle, which is what burns fat). Less obvious/common stuff: -a couple servings of fruit and veg a day, a multi-vitamin, can make a huge difference in how you feel with energy levels -most people don't get enough sleep. Some people only need 6 hours, some need 9, but find what you need typically between 7-8, and stick to a schedule where you sleep at the same time each night, sleep in when you can but keep to about the same time when you get in bed. An hour less of sleep a night can halve your fat loss. Perpetual sleep debt over taxes organs, slows down ability for muscle gain, and ends up making you over eat because you feel more hungry. Some things you may not have tried or thought of: -chronic pain or stiffness? Try stretching EVERY day for just 2-5 minutes (just google pictures of stretching positions if you are unsure what to do). Yoga and general meditation also help lots too. -Many of us have misalignment issues in our spine from the pelvis to neck, if your insurance covers you for it go get checked out. I had chronic back pain for about 10 years until I just went to a chiropractor 4 times (20$ copay) and haven't felt anything but specific cause pain in the last year. Misalignment can cause feet and leg problems, back pain, migraines, fatigue and insomnia, etc. -Ever tried accupuncture? As weird as it seems to a lot of westerners, accupuncture is a masters-PhD medical program for practitioners, and a style of medicine that is thousands of years old. This can treat and help a myriad of problems. These are just some basics, what do you do that helps you keep healthy and in shape, or heals injuries aside from a bottle of ibuprofen? Tips like taking the stairs instead of the elevator, using crystal light to keep yourself sipping water all day, prepacking small meals to bring to work to keep your diet on track and better dispersed, etc. are all great things to bring up.
